Try a few of these simple tips:

  • • Finish eating 2 to 3 hours before you go to bed.
  • • Eat smaller, lower-fat meals rather than large, high-fat ones.
  • • Avoid fried or fatty foods, heavily seasoned or spicy foods, as well as onions, alcohol, coffee, chocolate, and peppermint.
  • • Stay away from tight clothing and belts.
  • • Raise the head of your bed 4 to 6 inches.
  • • Try to lose extra weight.
  • • If you're a smoker, try to stop.
